It is with immense honour and pride that I recall my association with
Major HS Kalsi of more than four and half decades, having know
him since my training days in ‘Alpha’ squadron of NDA in 1980.
Maj HS Kalsi was my senior in the Army and we both had the proud
privilege of serving in the Rajputana Rifles and interacted on
innumerable occasions over the past many years. He has served as
a Group Testing Officer (GTO) at Selection Centre East and
presently heads Baalnoi Academy. His contribution in preparing
students for the defence forces is appreciable and noteworthy.
Today, practically every unit of the Indian Army/Air Force/Navy has
representation from Baalnoi Academy. Taking forward his contribution and services in nation building,
Major HS Kalsi has launched a school at Manoharpur, Jaipur by the
name of ‘Baalnoi School of Excellence’ with an aim to groom the
next generation and develop them physically, psychologically,
physiologically to become better citizens of tomorrow.
On this occasion, I convey my greetings to the entire Baalnoi
fraternity and wish Baalnoi School of Excellence all the very best.
The quest for excellence must continue to keep our National flag

Self and Major HS Kalsi are course mates from NDA. We joined
NDA in Jan 1978 and trained in the same sqn. In the Defence forces,
course mates are like brothers from different mothers. I have
witnessed Hardeep’s journey from a Cadet to the Director of Baalnoi
Academy and I must commend his contribution to the Defence
forces. His journey has been nothing short of inspirational and I
know from personal experience that he inspires every single
candidate that he mentors.
Both my sons were groomed at Baalnoi Academy and I say with
great pride that they are successful Defence officers today.
Major HS Kalsi’s school of excellence at Manoharpur, Jaipur boasts
of infrastructure, faculty and facilities at par with any school of
national recognition and repute and I can vouch for the space that
Baalnoi has created amongst the elite educational institutions of our
country.

Major HS Kalsi, an alumnus of National Defence Academy (NDA),
employing his leadership acumen and farsightedness, embarked
upon empowering the youth by establishing a coaching academy in
1992. With lapse of time, his humble venture acquired the reputation
of a leading SSB Academy, today known across the country as
Baalnoi Academy.
Commencing its curriculum just with two candidates at Janakpuri in
Delhi, today his Academy is brimming over. Combining his profound
experience and expertise as a Group Testing Officer (GTO), he
didactically imparted instructions to the candidates, leading them to
success. His concerted and sustained efforts have culminated into
consecration of about 15,000 officers in Defense Forces, a singular
achievement. The growth has been steady and remarkable, with
establishment of two of his additional SSB Academies, in Delhi
(Mayur Vihar) and Jaipur.
During my association with him, spanning over five years as a faculty
at Baalnoi Academy, I was overcome by his humility, and astounded
by his pragmatic and resolute approach.
With continued vigour and unflinching commitment to contribute to the
society, he has now taken a large stride in another domain, opening
a school in Jaipur with boarding and lodging facility for staff and
students. I am sanguine that the students will be imparted quality
education, along with a holistic development in all four domains;
mental, physical, emotional and spiritual, transforming them into
worthy and contributing citizens.
I wish Major HS Kalsi the very best in all his endeavours.

.Abhinandan Singh Bareth is an alumnus of Ramjas College, University of Delhi. With a dream of serving the nation using his expertise and keen interest, he chose to become a teacher. Soon after completing his Master’s degree in History and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from the University of Rajasthan, he started teaching at the Delhi Public School, Jaipur. Having an urban educational background helped him throughout his career. He also has a Postgraduate Diploma in School Leadership and Management. He was one of the founding members of Sainik School, Jhunjhunu. During his tenure at Sainik School, he played many roles, such as Head of the Department of Social Science, House Master, and most importantly, the Senior Master of the school. In CBSE Board examinations 2023, his students showed exemplary results, for which his efforts were commended. Abhinandan has a zeal to develop and promote creativity and high-order thinking skills that increase the performance of his students. An accomplished educator with a passion for empowering young
minds, Ms. Sonia Bose Sharma is an experienced teacher committed
to fostering a dynamic and engaging learning environment. With a
career spanning 31 years, she has honed her skills and garnered a
reputation for excellence in the field of education. Having done her BA
Geography Hons. From Miranda House, Delhi University and a
Masters Degree in Geography from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New
Delhi, Ms. Sharma went on to obtain her B.Ed from Annamalai
University and taught Geography at Navy Children School for a period
of 26 years. She was the head of Social Science
Department/Humanities & Physical Education, besides being the
School Proctor and Coordinator in multifarious committees. She has
also been awarded with the Outstanding Teacher Award – 2021 in
Navy Children School, New Delhi. With the mission and vision of
ensuring the progress and overall growth of her students, Ms. Sharma
envisages to create a holistic environment to engage the students and
ensure their success.
Major Taranjit Singh Kalsi is a third generation Army Officer. He has studied at one of the most prestigious school of Delhi. He did BA (Hons) applied psychology from Amity University, Noida.
Major Taranjit has attended military training at the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun and was the recepiant of the prestigious Brig K P Singh Deo award for the “Best in Physical”. He has successfully cleared all Defence course tenable to an officer of his service including Commando course at Belgaum and Para course at Agra.
He has been closely involved in the designing, conceptualisation and automation of Baalnoi School of excellence.
In the Defence forces they say “It is not the weapon but, the man behind the weapon that counts.” An inspirational speaker and motivator he brings about a “Punch” in his day to day activities. The Major’s mantra is “Education is the best form of enriching the society”.
